Nicole Stouder is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Ball State University, and her master’s degree in social work from Florida Gulf Coast University. She began her social work career working with at-risk youth in a residential treatment facility. She has worked in multiple crisis stabilization units and community programs, assessing children, teenagers, and adults experiencing mental health related crises; as well as those seeking detoxification and substance abuse treatment. Ms. Stouder has diversified her career by providing clinical services, case management, and therapy to clients in the home, school, community; and in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Ms. Stouder has significant experience working with adolescents and children as young as age 5. She has provided treatment to youth struggling with behavioral as well as family related issues. She also has considerable experience working with couples, young adults, seniors, and United States Veterans. Trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief, and issues with self-esteem are areas of particular expertise; as are co-occurring disorders, requiring both mental health and substance related treatment.
Ms. Stouder believes that therapy can benefit anyone who is willing to make the commitment. She particularly enjoys working with clients who are motivated to cultivate positive change. Ms. Stouder emphasizes the impact of healthy communication and positive self-talk. She enjoys assisting clients with exploring their emotions and thought processes, while simultaneously striving to enhance overall quality of life. Her therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy; as well as a strengths based perspective, and a trauma informed care framework.
