Brigid Raftery is a registered intern in Florida with a master’s in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor’s from the University of Scranton. Brigid works with patients of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, family and home life issues, life-stage transition, home and workplace stress, and substance abuse.
While at Nova Southeastern University, Brigid completed an internship with South Florida Therapeutic Solutions working with private and court-ordered clients. She facilitated individual as well as group counseling sessions. Her holistic and tailored approach allows clients to evaluate aspects of their lives to identify the various causes that may contribute to undesired behaviors or feelings. She then helps clients develop and deploy sustainable techniques to mitigate or eliminate the impact of the underlying causes. Brigid assists her clients to help reach the harmonious life they seek and continue living life in a healthy way.
During her graduate years, Brigid spent time volunteering for Epilepsy Alliance Florida. Some of her efforts included working as a camp counselor for children with epilepsy and serving as a member on their youth advocacy counsel. Additionally, she led a support group that helped adults struggling with epilepsy learn strategies to cope with epilepsy while improving their daily life.
